For a research university’s engineering school, the challenge was a busy building with two entrances, many departments, and no single story tying them together. Showy developed a set of design concepts for digital wayfinding and signage, starting with a continuous LED ticker that links the main entrances and every canvas in between. A feature wall was explored in several modes, from a real-time “pulse” of classes and events to full-wall branding, program overviews, and a color-coded directory of departments by floor. Further concepts used augmented and virtual reality to make navigation engaging, from press-and-follow AR paths to a pop-in VR portal into the school’s labs. Outdoor signage options extended the same identity to the street, giving the school a clear roadmap for a connected, consistent network.
