Privacy Policy
Showy Inc. ("Showy," "we," "us") designs and delivers audiovisual and experiential technology for workplaces. This policy explains what we collect through showy.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message field. When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you email or call us directly, we keep that correspondence.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, showy.com records technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that brought you here. We use Google Analytics for this.
We do not collect payment information through this site. We do not ask for sensitive categories of personal information, and you should not send them to us through the contact form.
Why we collect it
We use what you give us to respond to your inquiry, to prepare and discuss proposals, to deliver projects we are engaged on, and to send our newsletter if you asked for it. We use the automatic information to understand which parts of the site are useful, to fix problems, and to decide what to publish next.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build profiles for anyone else's marketing.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of service providers, and they only handle your information to perform services for us:
- Webflow, which hosts showy.com and stores form submissions.
- Google Analytics, which processes site usage data.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business. If that last one ever happens, you will be told.
Cookies
Showy.com uses cookies that are necessary for the site to work, and analytics cookies through Google Analytics that tell us how the site is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
Your newsletter subscription
Every newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link. Use it and you are off the list. You can also email us and we will remove you.
Subscribing to the newsletter does not sign you up for anything else, and unsubscribing does not affect a project we are working on together.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and correspondence for as long as we have an active or prospective relationship with you, and for a reasonable period afterward for our business records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows Google's own retention settings.
If you want your information deleted sooner, ask us.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, or to stop sending you email. Write to info@showy.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion, to request correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the rights above still apply.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR. Our lawful bases are your consent for the newsletter, our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and understanding site usage, and the performance of a contract where one exists. Note that Showy is a United States company and information you send us is processed in the United States.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect what we hold, and we work with established providers who do the same. No website or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Showy.com is a business website and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the revised version here and update the effective date above. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
